Verbatim Unveils New Micro USB Drives

A new family of Store 'n' Go Micro USB drives is now available from Verbatim. The range of ultra-small, ultra resilient USB devices provide storage of up to 8GB of data. Measuring only 30mm long, 12mm wide and 2mm thick, the drives weigh a miniscule 1,2 grams and are designed to be attached to a key ring, PDA or cell phone, enabling data to be carried with unlitmate convenience. The new drives come in three vibrant colours depending on the storage capacity, orange represents 2GB , 4GB is green while 8GB is purple.

The Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Flash Drives are optimized for Windows® and Mac® users and offer read write speeds of up to 30MB/sec and 13MB/sec for the 4GB and 8GB devices and up to 19MB/sec and 9MB/sec for the 2GB device. To achieve capacities of 2, 4 and 8GB in such an small, ultra-portable form these, Verbatim Store 'n' Go Micro USB drives feature new system-in-package (SIP) technology. SIP technology encapsulates all of the electronic components into a single miniaturized and sealed unit. As a result, the tiny drives resist water, dust, physical shock, electrostatic discharge (ESD) and are small enough and tough enough to take almost anywhere.

Enhanced for Windows ReadyBoost™, the Store ’n’ Go Micro USB Drive becomes a dual purpose device for Windows Vista™. Users who want to use a portion of the device’s unused flash memory to speed system performance can do so without having to add additional RAM memory. With support for Windows, Mac and Linux® systems, Verbatim Store 'n' Go Micro USB Drives also provide true cross-platform compatibility and a convenient way to transfer files between systems.

For security conscious PC users, the Store ‘n’ Go Micro USB Drives also include password security features to protect sensitive data, while allowing a public zone for open access and sharing of non-sensitive content. The complete package includes the Store 'n' Go USB Drive, pre-loaded password security software, and a mini lanyard for convenient carrying. As with all its products, Verbatim offers its customers free hotline support for the new USB drives.
